Detail

Proceso de aclimatación (Acclimatization process), 2013.                                Polyptych of 17 digital photographs. Inkjet prints on cotton paper. 33 x 50 cm. (each one)

Proceso de aclimatación, is another piece that I did during my first months in Rome. Understanding the city as a great living body, full of gaps, which leads us to occupy its spaces. So almost like a game, I began to look for my place within the city, spaces where I could insert the body, or where I had to do physical resistance to integrate myself into it. I used the body not only as a measuring instrument, but to generate brief and subtle actions that reactivate dead spaces by becoming another element of its architecture.

This photographic series, talks about the relationship between body and space. How a newcomer tries to understand where he is, how he takes position in a new city he arrives to and begin to participate in a subtle and symbolic way by being part of the space.
