Partes del Paisaje

A lo largo de esta muestra el cuerpo de Ramírez actúa como punto focal dentro del paisaje. Las obras en esta sección muestran partes del cuerpo: una mano sosteniendo o reorganizando piedras, una espalda incrustada de tierra, o pelo en cascada a través de las ramas de un árbol, convirtiéndose parte del ambiente. Las imágenes resultantes tienen un aire surrealista, en línea con las fotografías de Bill Brandt. Enfatizan los fundamentos de la práctica de Ramírez, en la que cualquier situación se puede animar a través de los materiales más disponibles como lo son el cuerpo, un objeto o lugar encontrado, y la cámara que captura el momento; y con eso es suficiente para crear poesía y arte.

Throughout this exhibition, Ramírez’s body is a focal point for the landscape. The works in this section show the body in parts, a hand holding or rearranging rocks, a back encrusted with the earth, or hair cascading through a tree, becoming part of the environment. The resulting images have a surreal air, in line with the photography of Bill Brandt. They emphasize the fundaments of Ramírez’s practice in which any situation can be animated through the most available materials of body, an encountered object or place, and a camera to capture the moment is sufficient to create poetry and art.
